About Heather

In this ever changing world of nutrition, I enjoy helping patients decipher the many myths and fads related to a healthy lifestyle. As a Registered Dietitian, Certified Nutritionist, and Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist, I am passionate about helping others feel better and live healthier lives. I stay up to date with current nutrition science and research, and apply this information into a realistic, simple approach to everyday life.

I graduated from LIU/Post, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition, followed by completing a competitive Dietetic Internship. I have improved the health of clients with various medical issues including Diabetes, PCOS, Weight Concerns, Pre-Op/Post Op Bariatric Surgery, Cardiovascular Disease, Gastrointestinal Disorders and general health related concerns.  I have worked at several well known Hospitals including: The Mount Sinai Hospital, Saint Francis Hospital, Winthrop University Hospital , and Northwell Hospital.  I enjoyed taking on a specialized out-patient program through Mount Sinai Hospital that focused on helping high risk patients with Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, and Obesity.  In addition to that, I also created the Diabetes Educational program for 16 offices of The Queens Long Island Medical Group.

I have contributed to several health/fitness articles in Wellness magazine. I am an active member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (Practice Groups: Weight Management & Bariatric, Diabetes Care & Education, Integrative Nutrition, Dietetic Entrepreneur), and The American Association of Diabetes Education.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, traveling, and creating delicious new recipes with with my two young children.
